Don't Say You Haven't Been Told...

From David Jakes at the recent NECC conference as he discussed how to improve presentations;

"Comic sans is illegal in 34 States."

Don't say you haven't been told.... again and again and again!

Flip Video Camera

I managed to get hold of a Flip video camera a couple of days ago and I've been very impressed with it so far. It can take up to an hour of video at decent quality and is really simple to use.

A great thing is that you can download your video directly through a flip-out usb connection. There's no need for cables or a real time download (Mrs Bull will be so happy!).

They come in a range of colours (boring white at the moment for me) and after a bit more testing I suspect I'll be bringing a few back to HK with me. Below is a review of the Flip camera from Computerworld.

Summer Hols!

So, where will you be spending your summer holidays?

For me, it's the UK and a chance to catch up with friends and family, but there will be some work related things along the way.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to get down to Roadford reservoir in Devon to witness the final of the Schools Marine Challenge.

This project involves students at Key Stage 3/4 engineering scale model boats to perform across three different categories; solar, electric and methanol.

The racing is spectacular at times, but the lasting impression is how hard the teams have worked to get to race day and of course, how much ICT is playing an ever increasing role in the D&T curriculum.

Well done to Teignmouth Community College who were the overall winners.

What chance we could hold a similar event on Pokfulam Reservoir!?
